Restaurant Group sees sales up by 3%

The Restaurant Group has issued positive trading news for the 20 weeks to 22 May. Executive chairman Alan Jackson said: "We are encouraged by performance so far this year, with a like-for-like sales increase of 3% for the principal trading brands."
The company said it had opened four new Frankie & Benny's restaurants and one new Chiquito's so far this year. More are planned for the second half of the year. "We expect to open in excess of 25 new units during 2005," Jackson said.
