Richard Caring plans Ivy Asia for St Pauls after acquiring three former Jamie Oliver sites

Richard Caring is planning to convert the former Barbecoa site in London's St Paul's that he acquired from Jamie Oliver after the collapse of the chef's restaurant group into his second Ivy Asia site.

A spokesperson for the group said that the site would open in the Autumn.

It is one of three recent acquisitions by Caprice Holdings, joining former Jamie's Italian restaurants in Cardiff and Oxford. An Ivy Brasserie is planned for Oxford, while the group is yet to decide which brand would best suit Cardiff.

The first Ivy Asia site is part of its 535-cover, four floor property in Manchester that also includes an Ivy Brasserie. Situated on the second floor, Ivy Asia is a bar-restaurant concept with Asian-inspired cocktails and dishes including black cod and miso, salmon fillet teriyaki, and avocado and crispy tofu with lime and ginger dressing.

Thought the menus for St Pauls are yet to be confirmed it is thought they will be similar to those on offer in Manchester.

The Ivy Collection currently comprises 32 brasseries, including the Glasgow site (pictured) that will open at the end of this month, and the Brasserie of Light restaurant in London's Selfridges department store.
