Richard Corrigan takes on former Nuala site for Old Street outpost

Chef Richard Corrigan has taken on the former site of Irish restaurant Nuala to launch his latest outpost on London's Old Street, Daffodil Mulligan.

Described by the chef as a "social co-op of like-minded people", Corrigan is set to be joined for the launch by John Nugent, the founder and chief executive of Green & Fortune, who will oversee front of house, and Tony Gibney of Irish pub Gibney's of Malahide, who will oversee the bar.

The chef said that Peter Milken, who founded music and arts hub Kings Place alongside Green & Fortune in nearby Kings Cross, will be curating music for the site.

Nuala closed at the end of 2018. The modern Irish restaurant was Niall Davidson's debut site when it launched in December 2017, but the chef departed just four months after its opening. This was followed by the departure of several other high-profile staff members over the following months for new projects.
