The Bulgari Hotel & Residences London in Knightsbridge, which is set to open in April, has announced that chef Robbie Pepin will be in charge of its flagship restaurant, Il Ristorante.
Pepin joins from Alain Ducasse's Italian restaurant La Trattoria in Monaco. He previously worked with Ducasse at L'Andana in Tuscany and the Four Seasons in Florence as well as at Aubergine and the Oak Room in London.
Il Ristorante will serve a menu of contemporary Italian food with a focus on seasonal, sustainably sourced produce.
The hotel's general manager, Sylvain Ercoli, commented: "I'm delighted to welcome Robbie to our team; he brings a wealth of experience and creativity gained through years of working with great chefs. His Italian/British nationality makes him the perfect match for Il Ristorante at the Bulgari Hotel in London."
The Bulgari Hotel & Residences will feature 85 bedrooms and suites as well as five apartments, Il Ristorante, Il Bar, a ballroom and the Bulgari Spa and Fitness centre.
Designed by Antonio Citterio, Patricia Viel and Partners, interiors couple the glamour of Bulgari with sustainable design features. Silver is the dominant theme throughout the hotel in tribute to Bulgari's silversmith heritage and British craftsmanship.
