Second Yelo on the way

Wide Range Restaurants plans to convert the Alistair Little restaurant in London's Notting Hill into its second Yelo Thai canteen and home-delivery venue.

Wide Range, which was set up 15 years ago, also operates three Lavender Restaurant and Bars in London, along with its first Yelo in Hoxton.

The company has bought the leasehold on the Alistair Little restaurant for an undisclosed sum from owners Mercedes Andr‚ and Kirsten Pederson, the former wife of chef Little, who withdrew from the restaurant more than two years ago. They want to concentrate on the 63-seat Alistair Little in Soho, which opened in 1985.

Director Trevor Young expected the new Yelo to be up and running within six weeks. He described the bench-dominated concept as "cheap and cheerful" with a fast turnover of customers.

Davis Coffer Lyons acted for the vendors.
