Signature Living plans to add hotel to Alma de Cuba following acquisition

Signature Living has acquired the Alma De Cuba bar and restaurant, set inside Liverpool's former St Peter's Catholic Church, with plans to expand the brand and build a hotel.

The £3.1m deal will see Signature Living add the Grade-II-listed building to the company's portfolio. It plans to refurbish the 200-cover restaurant and extend the building to create a 75-bedroom, carnival-themed hotel next to the existing property.

The group intends to refresh the bar and restaurant interior but will continue with the Latin American carnival theme it is famous for.

The deal will also see Signature Living acquire the rights to the Alma De Cuba brand, which it intends to roll out to other UK cities, along with new hotel developments.

Signature Living founder, Lawrence Kenwright, said: "Alma De Cuba is an incredibly strong brand so we are thrilled to be announcing our acquisition today as well as our plans for a new hotel."
