Simon and Maryann Wright sell share in Y Polyn to concentrate on new venture

Simon and Maryann Wright have sold their share in Welsh restaurant Y Polyn to partners Mark and Sue Manson.

The pair, who have co-owned the restaurant with the Mansons for six years, will concentrate on their new project Sosban, a 100-seat restaurant on Llanelli Waterside.

Maryann Wright said: "It has been a very rewarding six years. I'm proud of what we achieved but I'm also very grateful to the customers that have supported us so strongly and the staff that have worked so hard to make Y Polyn a success. What's pleasing about this is the fact that Mark and Sue and most of the team will be staying on and that Y Polyn will continue to go from strength to strength."

Mark Manson said: "We're really excited about the future of Y Polyn and we will be working hard to build on the success of the past six years. We wish Simon and Maryann every success with the new venture, this can only be good news for the quality of eating out in Carmarthenshire."

Y Polyn was named AA Restaurant of the Year for Wales in 2010.
