Simon Rogan organises fundraising dinners for Hospitality Action
Michelin-starred chef Simon Rogan has organised a "chef week" at his Manchester restaurant the French, which will help fundraise for industry charity Hospitality Action.
Four chefs from Rogan's collection of businesses will host a different night at the restaurant in the Midland hotel from 15 to 19 September, with £20 per diner booking going to Hospitality Action. Each menu will cost £100 per person, including the donation, with an optional wine flight available for £60.
The team comprises Adam Reid from the French, Tom Barnes from L'Enclume, Dan Cox from Fera at Claridge's, and David Simms, who is the group's managing director. Each will showcase distinctive cooking style and menus. Rogan himself will cook on the penultimate night, Friday 18 September.
The week will take place as part of the Manchester Food & Drink Festival, which is taking place from 10-21 September 2015.
The full chef schedule:
Wednesday 16 September - David Simms, Simon Rogan Restaurants
Thursday 17 September - Dan Cox, Fera at Claridge's (Mayfair, London)
Friday 18 September - Simon Rogan
Saturday 19 September - Adam Reid, The French
Hospitality Action is the industry's benevolent charity, offering support and financial assistance to past and present hospitality employees and their relatives should they fall on hard times.
Its most recent donation campaign centred on the idea that "it could happen to anyone", and featured famous chefs such as Jason Atherton and Angela Hartnett suffering from problems including drug addiction, serious illness or depression.
