Simpsons GM Matthew Hough departs

Matthew Hough has left his role as general manager of the Michelin-starred Simpsons restaurant in Birmingham, less than three months after he joined.

The restaurant confirmed that Hough has moved on and said there were no plans to replace him. Instead, his responsibilities will be picked up by chef director Luke Tipping.

Meanwhile, Maëlys Jacquot remains restaurant manager, with Nathan Eades still in his role as head chef.

Hough, who was previously maître d' at Michelin-starred Hedone in Chiswick, west London is to take on a new role in front of house at La Rive in Cobham, Surrey.

La Rive, operated by Simon Rand and Eric Payet, launched in October this year. The 134-cover restaurant, on the former site of La Capanna, offers Provençal-style food.
