Six restaurants shortlisted for 2017 Catey Menu of the Year

Six restaurants have joined the shortlist for The Caterer's Menu of the Year Catey award 2017, sponsored by Quorn.

Askham Hall in Cumbria, Galvin HOP in London and Som Saa in London were all successful in making the shortlist after appearing in The Caterer during May to July.

Meanwhile, Noble Rot in London, Swan Wine Kitchen in Tenterden, Kent, and Wine & Brine in Moira, County Down, have made the shortlist having appeared in The Caterer during August to October.

Restaurants are selected quarterly from all the menus featured on the Menuwatch pages of the Chef section of over the previous three months. The full shortlist of 12 menus will be judged in May 2017.

The menus are judged on innovation within the price bracket of that particular establishment or contract; good use of seasonal produce on the menu; creativity of the dishes being served; careful marrying of textures and flavours of the component ingredients; value for money; and, seeing the menu or selection of dishes, whether the judges would be tempted to eat there.

The list of the six restaurants that have been added to the shortlist for the Menu of the Year Catey 2017 so far is:

• Askham Hall

• Galvin HOP

• Noble Rot

• Som Saa

• Swan Wine Kitchen

• Wine & Brine

The Caterer Awards, in their 34th year in 2017 and also known as the Cateys, will take place on 4 July. To explore sponsorship opportunities, contact Rob Adam at
