Sushinho to open second London site

Brazilian-Japanese restaurant concept Sushinho will open its second site in London in 2013.

The first Sunshinho opened in Chelsea four years ago, championing a style of cuisine enjoyed by Brazil's Japanese community in the streets of Rio and São Paulo. São Paulo is home to the largest Japanese population outside of Japan.

The new site will be in Devonshire Square in the City of London, close to Liverpool Street. It will feature a ground floor restaurant complete with sushi bar, a lower ground floor cocktail bar, the Cutler Bar, and a private dining space. Both sites are owned by Paul McKenna and Oliver Girardet.

The kitchen will be staffed by native Brazilian executive chef Joni Viscardi who is joined by Gemma Tuley (previously of Gordon Ramsay) and a brigade of sushi chefs.

Signature dishes include the hot Sushinho roll with cream cheese, salmon and crab, butterfish tataki with truffle jelly and crispy capers and confit pork salad with mango, melon, burnt orange dressing.
