Taka to open in Mayfair

Andrey and Anastasia own a restaurant in Tokyo of the same name and aim to bring high end Japanese food to London.

Taka will offer tataki, tempura, salads, sashimi platters, inside out rolls and yaktori, all made by chefs originating from Tokyo.

The 28-cover restaurant will be situated in Shepherd Market next door to Ferdi and Kitty Fishers. Set over two floors, the ground floor will be occupied by the restaurant.

The lower ground will house a bar, indicated by an illuminated sign at the bottom the stairs which will read: 'for the sake of the sake'. It will have a capacity of 16 and serve sake, Japanese liquor and cocktails including the Shochu Martini, Courgette and Sake refresher alongside a plum and thyme prosecco smash.

Andrey said: "I'm so excited about this new venture, and the stunning listed Shepherd Market in Mayfair is the perfect place for Taka to call home. Japanese food and drink have always been particular favorites and I'm looking forward to taking it to the next level".
