Tamarind appoints executive chef and GM for One Kensington

The Tamarind Collection Group has appointed an executive chef and general manager for its revamped restaurant, One Kensington (formerly Zaika), as it gears up for its March 2014 opening.

Massimiliano Blasone will take on executive chef role, having previously worked at Nikita Malibu in California, and Heinz Beck's Apsleys at The Lanesborough before that.

He is joined by general manager Karl Kessab, who also previously worked at Nikita Malibu and the Lanesborough.

In addition, executive pastry chef Sanjay Gour has also joined the restaurant, having previously worked at both the Royal Opera House and Murano.

Overlooking Kensington Palace Gardens, One Kensington provides a glamorous space for all-day socialising and entertaining, from lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, through to cocktails and late supper.

When it opens, it aims to create and atmosphere reminiscent of the capital's leading private members' clubs.
