Tampopo to open seventh noodle bar this summer
Asian noodle bar group Tampopo is set to open its seventh outlet this summer.
The Manchester-based company will open a new site at the Oracle retail and leisure centre in Reading in July. The new restaurant will be housed in a waterside unit at the development in central Reading which is home to more than 30 catering outlets including the latest Jamie's Italian restaurant.
Tempopo, which currently operates six restaurants in Manchester, Leeds, Bristol and London, was founded by David Fox and business partner Nick Jeffrey in 1997. The duo secured £2.2m of funding from the Co-operative Bank in 2008 which has funded its expansion.
Caroline Hanratty, real estate partner at Manchester-based law firm George Davies, who advised Tampopo on the deal said: "It is great to see further expansion of the Tampopo concept nationally. Nick and David are keen to expand the chain further and are currently identifying further sites across the country."
