Texture Restaurant Group sells first of three 28°-50° restaurants
Texture Restaurant Group has already accepted an offer on the first of the three 28°-50° restaurants it has put up for sale.
Clifford's Restaurant has bought 28-50° Wine Workshop and Kitchen on Fetter Lane, Farringdon following what the London based group described as a "great offer".
Clifford's Restaurant was incorporated in March this year, and its director is listed as chef Gemma Jane Ellis. It is understood the site is going to be renamed Clifford's Restaurant and Bar, serving British and European food in an informal setting.
Meanwhile, Texture Restaurant Group confirmed that its other two 28°-50° venues at Marylebone Lane and Maddox Street are also for sale.
A spokesperson for the group said: "28°-50° on Marylebone Lane and Maddox Street perform well, but only significant, exceptional offers will be considered. The Michelin-starred Texture restaurant trades exceptionally well and is not for sale."
Texture Restaurant Group was founded in 2007 by Icelandic-born chef Agnar Sverrisson and sommelier Xavier Rousset with the opening of Texture on Portman Street.
The pair met while working at Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons and opened the first 28°-50° wine bar and restaurant in 2010 before a second site 28°-50° site opened in 2012 in Marylebone Lane, followed by a third on Maddox Street in 2013.
Rousset left the business in 2015 and subsequently opened Blandford Comptoir on London's Blandford Street in May 2016, followed by Cabotte with fellow master sommelier Gearoid Devaney in September.
