The Collection launches Kitchen 264 restaurant
Chelsea venue the Collection has launched a new restaurant called Kitchen 264.
The Collection, which relaunched last year following a revamp by designer Tom Dixon, has appointed Israeli chef Oded Oren to head up the kitchen, which offers a modern Mediterranean menu.
Oren, who was previously head chef at Turkiz in Tel Aviv, has created a menu of small sharing platters as well as normal sized portions.
Typical dishes include grilled lamb, stuffed calamari and caraway (£13), grouper ceviche with avocado, citrus and soft herbs (£14), and grilled lemon marinated poussin with sauce vierge (£19).
An extensive drinks list includes a range of signature cocktails such as Blueberry Bellini (£10.25), or ‘Italian Job' made with limoncello, campari, lime, passion fruit and red grapefruit juice (9.50). Located on a mezzanine level, Kitchen 264 also features a Champagne bar serving signature Champagne cocktails.
In addition to the restaurant, there is the Collection Lounge Bar, featuring leather and velvet banquette seating, Dixon's trademark metallic lighting and scorched wood and exposed brickwork walls.
Natalie Ivesha, director of Kitchen 264, commented: "The response to our redesign last year was overwhelmingly positive, so launching a new restaurant was the logical next step. We are thrilled to have secured Oded, whose creative and original cooking will make Kitchen 264 a destination in its own right."
