The Hop Sheffield to open with BBQ Collective barbecue residency
Restaurant and bar the Hop Sheffield, from the Ossett Brewery, is to team up with chef-led barbecue group the BBQ Collective when it reopens after refurbishment.
Set to begin serving on 14 August, the menu will include dishes made using the BBQ Collective's ‘low and slow' hickory, oak and applewood smoker, including ribs, brisket, Texas hot link sausages, and buttermilk fried chicken.
Spread over two floors, the Hop Sheffield has recently been refurbished, and will host live music every weekend. It also holds a pub quiz every Tuesday.
The BBQ Collective is the brainchild of Minnesota-born executive chef and co-founder, Jeffrey Wright. Having developed his culinary skills working from age 14, but initially working in banking technology, Wright teamed up with his wife Mathurot to start the barbecue concept, which took him on a learning tour of North Carolina, Tennessee and Kansas City, as well as Hill Country Barbecue Market in New York.
Mathurot Chuladul, marketing and communications director of the BBQ Collective, said: "We are thrilled to be partnering with Ossett Brewery to deliver this exciting venture. Ossett has an excellent track record of opening and operating a highly successful portfolio of breweries, restaurants and bars; together, we intend to bring the three elements that make for a truly exceptional BBQ experience: BBQ, beer and live music."
