Thieves steal £10,000-worth of equipment from pizza shop

Catering equipment worth £10,000 has been stolen from a pizza shop in County Durham at the weekend.

Thieves stole three stainless steel work tops, mixer, an industrial grill and a Williams fridge and freezer from Willington's Pizza Time between the hours of midnight on Friday and 3pm Saturday.

Shop owner Ali Eldessouky, 29, told the Northern Echo that this was the second time his shop had been targeted this year.
"I don't feel safe anymore," he said. "I was picking my kids up from Scotland and they broke the big lock at the back. They have taken everything.

"There is nothing there left except a huge mess. I think they took it for scrap."

The intruders pushed a vehicle out of the way and kicked in the back door and gate. A police spokesman said up to four people would be needed to carry the items from the high street shop.
