Tom Aikens announces two new restaurants

Tom Aikens' restaurant group, Tom's Kitchen, has announced the launch of its first UK site outside London, Tom's Kitchen Birmingham, and its first international deli, located in Dubai.

Due to open in December 2016, Tom's Kitchen Birmingham will be located at the Mailbox development, offering all-day dining, seven days a week.

Giving prominence to UK suppliers and producers, the menu will feature British classics and comfort food in a relaxed environment designed by B3 designers. There will also be various private and semi-private spaces available for events.

Aikens said he believed the time was right to move away from the capital, adding: "Birmingham is a vibrant and bustling city with a thriving food scene. There is already a wonderful array of restaurants in the city, and I believe that Tom's Kitchen will offer an exciting new option for diners in the Mailbox development".

The Dubai location is set to open on 1 October 2016 and will be the first deli outside the UK, at Dubai Parks and Resorts, Riverland.

The two openings will bring Aikens' portfolio of restaurants to eight; currently Tom's Kitchen has five sites across London and one in Istanbul.
