Tom Booton becomes the Grill at the Dorchester's youngest ever head chef

Tom Booton, 26, has been appointed head chef of the Grill at the Dorchester, becoming the youngest person to take on the position in the restaurant's 88-year history.

The 2019 Acorn award winner (pictured left), who joins the restaurant after holding the same position at Alyn Williams at the Westbury in Mayfair, will spend the coming months putting his own stamp on the dining room menus, which are set to be unveiled in early October.

Joining Booton in what has been described as a "new chapter of the Grill at the Dorchester" is fellow 2019 Acorn award winner Kieran McLoughlin (pictured, centre), who takes the position of general manager. McLoughlin previously worked at Hide in Mayfair.

Regional director UK and general manager of the Dorchester Robert Whitfield said: "Tom Booton's talent and energy provide a formidable match in re-affirming the Grill at the Dorchester's position as a leading London dining classic. This year marks a new culinary chapter for the Dorchester, with the recent appointment of Stefan Trepp, our first executive chef in 20 years, and this autumn's re-launch of the Grill under Tom's watch."

Adam Nevin (pictured, right) will also join the restaurant's team as sous chef.
