Tom Kerridge to help turn struggling pubs around for BBC Two programme

Tom Kerridge is on the hunt for pubs under threat of closure that he can help support for a primetime BBC Two show under his production company Bone Soup.

The chef has put out a call for pubs that are struggling or on the brink of closure to step forward for the currently unnamed series.

A casting call for the show notes: "Tom will be using his business experience and passion for the licensed industry to work with determined publicans and communities to save their much-loved pubs from closing their doors for good."

While the rate of landlords shutting up shop in the UK has slowed, with the number of permanent closures across England and Wales halving in the first six months of 2019, the period still saw 235 sites demolished or converted for other uses.
