Vietnamese restaurateur buys Marston's pub

Vietnamese restaurant operator Café East has bought the leasehold on the Quebec Curve pub in London's Surrey Quays Leisure Park from pub company Marston's (formerly Wolverhampton & Dudley).

The two-storey, detached property is a converted Victorian waterside warehouse at 100 Redriff Road on the redeveloped Surrey Docks, close to Surrey Quays shopping centre.

It provides a 60-seat open-plan trading area and a further 60 seats in the enclosed courtyard.

Vu Nim of Café East hopes to replicate the success of his other outlets to create a restaurant offering quality Vietnamese food in a relaxed and stylish atmosphere.

The Epsom office of Christie + Co sold the free-of-tie, 25-year leasehold (which runs to March 2023) off a nil premium. Annual rent is £79,941.
