Vinoteca to open third site in Soho
The owners of London wine bar and shop Vinoteca are set to launch a third site this spring, with the opening of a new venue in Soho.
Brett Woonton, Charlie Young and Elena Ares, who already operate Vinoteca in Farringdon and Marylebone, will open a wine bar, dining room and wine shop on Beak Street in mid-April.
Spread over two floors, Vinoteca in Soho will offer a good-value wine list alongside a frequently changing menu of modern British and European dishes overseen by head chef Will Leigh. General manager Willoughby Andrews will head up the front of house team, after opening and managing the Marylebone site.
The 45-cover ground floor will include a wine shop and will be open from noon to 11pm, offering relaxed all-day dining with Prosecco dispensed on tap from the central bar.
Meanwhile the first-floor dining room, which also has 45 seats, will be open for lunch and dinner. The menu will include dishes such as grilled mackerel with rhubarb chilli and lovage, roast loin of wild boar with polenta and gingery pears, the ever-popular marinated grilled bavette steak with chips and lemon curd and blackcurrant sorbet sandwich.
The 300-strong wine list, including 25 by the glass, will feature a broad variety of great-value, interesting and quirky wines all of which will be available to buy from the Vinoteca Soho shop or online.
The interior will feature exposed brickwork, a restored terracotta tiled ceiling and iron-framed Crittal windows, as well as natural materials such as solid oak floors, reclaimed tables, chairs reupholstered in English leather and old Victorian mahogany theatre benches.
