Wagamama to open in Hampshire retail development Whiteley
Japanese-inspired restaurant chain Wagamama has signed a 20-year lease for a 3,500 sq ft restaurant in the first phase of the Whiteley retail and leisure destination in Hampshire.
It joins a number of operators already at the site, which opened in May. These include Chimichanga, Dean's Diner, Frankie & Benny's, Harvester, Prezzo, Starbucks, Subway and Yo! Sushi.
Work will start early next year on Whiteley's second phase, which will comprise 30,000 sq ft of additional restaurants and leisure as well as a 30,000 sq ft nine-screen cinema which has been pre-let to Cineworld.
Simon Cope, Wagamama's marketing, property and international franchising director, said: "Retail and leisure destinations continue to play an important role in Wagamama's growth in the UK and we are excited to add Whiteley to our portfolio.
"Dining and shopping come hand in hand and we know that our customers enjoy dropping into Wagamama to enjoy our unique pan Asian food and socialise whilst on a shopping trip. Whitely is a great location for our customers to come and enjoy fresh food in a relaxed and fun environment."
