WL to open seventh Hi Sushi restaurant this summer
The London-based WL Group of Restaurants is to launch a new branch of its Japanese restaurant concept Hi Sushi in Covent Garden in the summer.
The company, which operates 13 eateries in the capital including six Hi Sushi outlets as well as Leong's Legend and Ikkyusan in Chinatown, will launch the new Hi Sushi branch in the Opera Quarter in June.
Spread over three floors the restaurant, which will be located on Katherine Street, will accommodate up to 100 guests serving a range of Japanese cuisines.
It will include an open grill area in the basement, serving meat and seafood dishes from the yakitori grill, as well as a sushi bar on the ground floor.
The first floor will comprise a formal dining room with sunken seating, offering a wide range of Japanese food in addition to dishes from the other two floors.
WL Group of Restaurants managing director Geoffrey Leong told Caterersearch the company was looking to expand further in London.
"We have taken over the Golden Harvest restaurant in Chinatown and are looking for further available sites," he said.
"We're trying to change the image of Chinatown and our focus is on contemporary restaurants offering high quality fresh food."
