Wood grill restaurant named Oaks to open in Nottingham

A new restaurant named Oaks is to open in Nottingham, cooking using locally-sourced food over sustainably-produced wood embers.

The 90-cover restaurant and bar will open this spring and serve handmade sausages, plus chicken, steaks and burgers, with homemade marinades and sauce.

The grill, which will be on show via the open kitchen, will be powered by logs taken from the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, which produces the wood through sustainable coppicing practices.

The restaurant's drinks menu will also include a selection of craft ales from nearby brewery Castle Rock, wine by the carafe and a range of cocktails.

Its interior design has been created with designers The House With alongside Nottingham Trent University graduates, and will use materials such as charred wood and brick and oak tables.
