Wozza signs lease for third London grill

Antony Worrall Thompson's grill concept is expanding into a "ménage à trois" with a new site set to open in Barnes, south-west London, at Easter.

Following the success of his restaurants in Kew and Notting Hill, Worrall Thompson has signed the lease for a site on Rock's Lane - currently called Mamma restaurant - for a reported £35,500 a year.

The Barnes Grill, as it is expected to be called, will seat up to 80 and is due to open in early April following a £100,000 refurbishment.

Tim Etchells, AWT's business partner, said: "It's come about because of Kew's phenomenal success, and Barnes is a perfect area for this kind of restaurant."

He added that the company was "actively looking" for other sites in south-west London, including Hammersmith and Putney.

Worrall Thompson is also believed to have bought a new pub, the Lamb, near Henley, Oxfordshire, to add to his gastropub portfolio of the Angel Coach Inn in Wiltshire and the Greyhound in Oxfordshire.

Property agents Davis Coffer Lyons acted for Mamma restaurant.
