Xavier Rousset is to open Comptoir Café & Wine in Mayfair, London, in April. The café will be a relaxed version of Blandford Comptoir, which opened in Marylebone last year.
The new 40-cover, no-reservation café on Weighhouse Street, behind Bond Street tube station, will serve small plates such as beef tartare, ceviche and seafood, lobster rolls and charcuterie.
It will be overseen by head chef Ben Mellor, who devised the menu at Blandford Comptoir. Lighter dishes, such as soups and salads, will be served at lunch, while a breakfast menu will also be available.
A wine shop on the lower ground floor will feature 1,000 wines, all of which will be available at retail prices and can be enjoyed while dining for £10 corkage.
The wine shop will also incorporate an intimate space for private tastings and events suitable for up to 30 people standing or 12 seated.
Rousset opened the original Blandford Comptoir in May 2016, before opening Cabotte with fellow master sommelier Gearoid Devaney in September.
Colliers handled the leasing of the new Comptoir Café site.
