Rudding Park secures seven-figure loan to develop golf and country club

Rudding Park in Harrogate has secured a seven-figure support package from HSBC UK to develop a 60,000 sq ft golf and country club.

Plans for the golf and country club were first approved by the council in September 2023.

The loan will also enable upgrades to the four-AA-red-star hotel’s existing health and wellbeing facilities, as well as the addition of a new swimming pool.

There are further plans for seven new padel and tennis courts, an accompanying pavilion and the full restoration of a walled garden.

The project is expected to create 75 new jobs, with the hotel predicting a 4.8% increase in turnover over the next 12 months as a result.

Rudding Park has been owned by the Mackaness family since 1972 and now features 90 bedrooms and suites, a spa, two golf courses, conference and events spaces, and three restaurants, including the Michelin-starred Fifty Two at Rudding Park.
