Sodexo secures £240m contract with Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust

Sodexo has renewed its partnership with Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, taking the contract up to 2027.

The four-year extension will start from October 2023 and is worth in excess of £240m.

Sodexo Health & Care catering will supply 1,900 employees across Wythenshawe Hospital and the Trust's Oxford Road Campus (ORC), which includes Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, University Dental Hospital of Manchester, Manchester Royal Infirmary, Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, and Saint Mary's Hospital for Women and Neonates.

The foodservice provider will offer patient dining, portering, helpdesk support, retail catering and receipt and distribution.

Under the new contract, Sodexo will also introduce infection prevention programmes, including SureWash hand hygiene training technology and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) education.

The catering company also oversees food outlets including Subway, Starbucks, Costa and Kitchen Works by Sodexo at all partner sites.

Sodexo has worked at Wythenshawe Hospital since 1999 and the Oxford Road Campus since 2008.
