Springboard launches Seven Wonders of the World charity challenge

Industry charity Springboard has called on walkers, runners, cyclists and swimmers to take on a virtual race that amounts to roughly 31,000 miles, the equivalent of visiting all Seven Wonders of the World.

The charity's third virtual race will take place throughout July 2023 and raise funds that will go towards futureproofing the talent pipeline for hospitality.

Over the past two years, the virtual race has raised more than £150,000, which has been used to support future Springboard trainees, including those who are unemployed or from underprivileged backgrounds.

Bidfood's Catherine Hinchcliff, a previous virtual racer, said: "I was a bit hesitant to participate, but was so pleased to have joined up. It was such fun and really motivated me to get back on my exercise bike and really go for it!"

The race uses My Virtual Mission to track miles.

Teams consist of a maximum of 20 people, with each member pledging to raise £150 for Springboard.

Registration is £15 per person and can be completed on the Springboard website.

The virtual Springboard race is sponsored by CH&Co and Nestlé.
