The concept will be run with the stadium’s catering partner, Sodexo Live!
MasterChef: The Professionals winner and Etch owner Steven Edwards is to launch a new food concept at Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club.
Bites by Steven Edwards will offer burgers, hot dogs and sides at the Premier League club’s new Terrace area, which will open at the American Express stadium on 1 April.
It will be run with the club’s catering partner Sodexo Live!, which won the Innovation Award at the 2024 Foodservice Cateys for its use of AI, automatic beer dispensers and air fryers to modernise the stadium catering experience.
The Terrace will have space for up to 1,000 fans inside and 2,000 outside and offer food on both match days and non-match days under concepts such as fried chicken brand Lost Boys Chicken, Asian fusion option Zen Street Food and Melts Café, which will serve a selection of toasties, shakes and specialty doughnuts.
Edwards began working with Brighton and Hove FC as creative director of its more formal Tunnel Club dining concept in 2023.
Russell Wood, head of commercial at Brighton & Hove Albion FC says: “Our aim is to make the Terrace a destination venue within the site for non-match day events and hospitality too and we are delighted to have Steven working with us to help make that happen.”
Edwards said: “I love a good burger and it’s been great fun working on a concept that’s so different to what we create and serve at Etch. The patties and hot dogs are packed with flavour and I’ll be regularly changing the menu to make the most of seasonal ingredients."
Edwards became one of the youngest ever winners of MasterChef: The Professionals in 2013.
He opened his flagship restaurant Etch in Brighton in 2017 and it has since won three AA rosettes and a listing in the Michelin Guide. He previously oversaw a restaurant at the Bingham Riverhouse hotel in London before stepping away in 2023.
