The York opening marks the latest addition to Supercity’s portfolio, which includes eight aparthotels across London, Manchester, Leeds and Edinburgh
Aparthotel operator Supercity is set to open a new property in York later this month.
The 46-suite aparthotel on the historic city-centre street Micklegate occupies a site previously held by vacant commercial units, including a van hire centre and a restaurant.
The opening had originally been scheduled for 2023 but was delayed after the discovery of a section of York’s medieval city wall during construction. Subsequent archaeological excavations uncovered artefacts dating back to the Roman period.
Roger Walters, founder and chairman of Supercity, said: “The development blends in with the character of York, and we look forward to bringing our stylish hallmark interiors and warm service to this great city.”
The York opening marks the latest addition to Supercity’s portfolio, which includes eight aparthotels across London, Manchester, Leeds, Brighton and Edinburgh.
The company was recently named among the top 30 employers in The Caterer’s Best Places to Work in Hospitality 2026 survey, held in partnership with Korero and sponsored by Umbrella Training.
Supercity Aparthotels ranked 16th in the list, marking the third consecutive year it has secured a top 20 placing.
