The Newt in Somerset launches exclusive use estate
Yarlington Lodge is set within its own 12 acres and can welcome up to 32 guests
The Newt in Somerset has opened Yarlington Lodge, an exclusive use Regency country house suitable for family stays and celebrations.
Yarlington Lodge is located in Yarlington Village, one mile from the Newt, and is set within its own 12 acres. The estate was once gifted by Henry VIII to his final wife Catherine Parr.
The site has been restored by the Newt’s co-owner, Karen Roos, and can welcome up to 32 guests across the main house and two cottages.
The 19th century main house consists of eight bedrooms, two of which can form a family suite with a shared bathroom. Meanwhile, the Coach house and Cottage in the Wall each has four bedrooms.
Accessible rooms are available across Yarlington Lodge and the Cottage in the Wall.
The estate also features an indoor jacuzzi with changing rooms, a croquet lawn, sitting rooms, dining rooms, library and fully stocked kitchens in each property.
A chef is available at Yarlington, who can prepare pre-cooked meals, grazing lunches and four-course dinners at the Palm House.
Yarlington Lodge targets families through the offer of children’s bedrooms, a cinema for 16 people, an outdoor heated 22m pool, tennis court and sprawling gardens.
Nanny services can also be arranged by the butler team and the Newt nearby, which hosts several family-friendly events, ranging from Forest School to seasonal trails.
In addition, those staying at Yarlington Lodge will be offered a 12-month Newt membership from the date of their stay.
The Newt opened Farmyard, self-contained farmstead accommodation, also available for private hire, in 2020.
The Newt was launched in 2019 by South African businessman Koos Bekker, who bought the Grade I-Iisted, 17th century house set on the Emily Estate in 2013.
