The auction follows Aendre’s acquisition of the Other House’s Covent Garden, Belgravia and South Kensington outposts last month
The entire contents of the Other House hotel and members’ club in London’s Kensington is to be auctioned off following a landmark portfolio acquisition.
Last month, hospitality operator Aendre acquired the Other House’s Covent Garden, Belgravia and South Kensington outposts, which are to be repositioned under a new luxury wellness brand.
The auction will take place between 28 and 30 July following a four-day public viewing window starting from 24 July between 9am and 4pm. All items will be sold with no reserve prices.
More than 2,100 pieces of furniture and bespoke drapery will be available to the public, ranging from a 30ft bespoke botanical chandelier designed and handcrafted by Cox London to cabinet units manufactured by Curtis Furniture.
Solid wood dining tables from the private Francis Bacon and Mervyn Peake dining suites, as well as a timber whiskey locker from the Keeping Room and Hogsmire lounges, will also be on offer.
The clearance sale spans 11 grand Victorian townhouses on Harrington Gardens, previously home to 230 luxury guest ‘Club Flats’, private members’ bars, wellness spaces and commercial kitchens.
Simon Rose, director at Pro Auction, said: “This is a clearance on an unprecedented scale for South Kensington. Because the auction is entirely unreserved, items that cost thousands of pounds to custom-commission will start at a fraction of their value. We are opening the doors to a private world, allowing hoteliers, interior designers and private buyers to walk in and take home bespoke British craftsmanship with zero lead time.”
The Other House Kensington opened in July 2022 under an exclusive ‘Residents Club’ model.
The brand was founded by Naomi Heaton and designed by Bergman Design House.
Heaton announced her departure from the Other House in February, having been named executive chair at LCP Private Office, the London-based real estate investment advisory that launched the Other House in 2019 as part of a joint venture with Netherlands-based pension provider APG.
