The Staffordshire hotel and resort has unveiled a new sauna and steam room alongside a bolstered calendar of wellness events, including a full moon ritual
The Tawny has introduced a new sauna with uninterrupted views of its 70-acre estate in response to a surge in demand for wellness experience and activities from its guests.
The new wellness facilities also include a steam room clad in reclaimed sandstone sourced from nearby Wootton Hall.
The Staffordshire hotel has debuted a calendar of events for 2027, including ‘pilates and plunge’ and a ‘full moon ritual and soft reset experience’ on 10 September, which will combine yoga, access to the estate’s wellness facilities and lunch at the hotel’s three-AA-rosette restaurant, the Plumicorn, with drinks made with local foraged ingredients.

Next year the hotel will introduce a guided forest bathing meditation experience, inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku.
This bolstered calendar of wellness events comes after the Tawny’s general manager Josh Chadwick told The Caterer earlier this month that demand for its yoga and Pilates retreats “genuinely surprised us in the best way”, and added that “guests are building entire stays around them.”

Speaking about the hotel’s enhanced wellness offering, Chadwick said: “Nature has always done a lot of the hard work for us at the Tawny. With 70 acres of woodland, lakes and wildlife on the doorstep, you naturally slow down as soon as you arrive. The new sauna and steam room mean we can now offer guests much more of a complete wellness experience alongside the outdoor pool, treatments and everything there is to do across the estate.
“The response to our wellness events this year has been fantastic, showing us that guests are increasingly looking for experiences that help them properly switch off. It’s something we’re really excited to continue developing over the next two years.”
