Hakkasan Group has announced the promotion of Tobias Brauweiler to group sommelier, replacing Christine Parkinson, who left the role of group head of wine earlier this year.
In the role, Brauweiler will oversee the wine programmes for the group’s Asian Luxury Collection brands including Hakkasan, Yauatcha, Sake no Hana and Ling Ling.
Since joining Hakkasan Group in 2014 his roles have included head sommelier at Hakkasan Hanway Place, and general manager at HKK London and Sake no Hana in London and Ling Ling Mykonos in Greece. Prior to this he was head sommelier at hotels including Ellenborough Park in Cheltenham and the Ritz London.
In 2015 Brauweiler earned his Master Sommelier (MS) Diploma, a qualification which has to date been awarded to fewer than 300 candidates.
