Smiths of Smithfield, the two-rosette restaurant set up in London's meat market in 2000 by former Conran chef John Torode, has diversified into the outside catering market with the launch of SOS Out this month.
The Smiths team has also launches a new venue for hire - a medieval castle in Auchleven, Aberdeenshire, which it acquired in March.
Torode said SOS Out would "reflect the true personality of Smiths" and would therefore use the existing 135-strong Smiths team rather than create a new separate division. It will cater for groups from 20 people to a couple of hundred wherever required - at home, on the beach, at the Scottish castle, or at an event in the country.
Packages based on the distinctive offering of Smiths' four different floors had been devised to make life easier for the clients, said Torode.
The ground Floor package offers breakfasts and lunches for £20 a head, and the Cocktail Bar menu includes canapé packages ranging from £12.50 to £28.50 a head plus cocktails at £5.50 each, The three-course Dining Room and Top Floor choices are priced at £35 and £60 per head respectively.
Also on offer are BBQ packages (between £32.50 and £60 per head) and Drinks packages (from £20 to £40 per head).
Lickleyhead Castle can be hired with or without SOS Out providing the food. The 15th-century property set in 30 acres of forest and garden includes seven bedrooms, five bathrooms, a kitchen and a scullery. It can be used for weddings, house parties, holidays, or quiet conferences.
Customers can opt to feed themselves or call on the services of a local cook, who will prepare two-course meals in house for £25.50 a head, or drop in meals for £10 a head.
Guests at Lickleyhead Castle can also tap into activities offered by the neighbouring John Buchan Corporate Events, such as archery, clay pigeon shooting, riding and quad biking.
