Wroxall Abbey hotel in administration

Trinity Hotel, operator of Wroxall Abbey hotel, has fallen into administration citing difficulties resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Trinity Hotel, a consortium of private investors, had agreed to take a 100-year lease on Wroxall Abbey in 2020 after the previous operator fell into administration in 2019. Companies House lists John Nair as the person with significant control of the business.

Dating to the 12th century, Wroxall Abbey in Warwickshire is a Grade II-listed, 72-bedroom country house set within 27 acres of open parkland with 12 conference and meeting rooms, two restaurants and two bars. On-site facilities include a swimming pool, spa and three outdoor tennis courts, plus a large permanent marquee for up to 650 guests.

Mazars and KBL Advisory, who have been appointed as administrators to the business, said its incorporation had coincided with the first national lockdown.

Julien Irving of Mazars LLP said: "We are currently assessing the situation, with a view that the administrators are urgently seeking a buyer for all or part of the company's business and assets."
