Yorebridge House sold off £3.8m asking price

The five-AA-star Yorebridge House hotel in Wensleydale has been sold off an asking price of £3.8m.

The property, which won the Hotel of the Year – Independent award at the 2023 Cateys, has been owned by husband and wife team David and Charlotte Reilly for 19 years.

It has been sold to DWC Hotels, which plans to develop a mini spa and convert a barn to add more overnight bedrooms.

Yorebridge House currently offers 12 ensuite bedrooms, a Laurent Perrier wine tasting room and the Orangery restaurant, which has retained three AA rosettes since 2014.

Two additional function rooms are licensed for marriages and civil partnerships.

The hotel’s stone building is Grade II listed and set within six acres of private grounds, next to the River Ure and close to the nearby market towns of Hawes and Leyburn.

The Reillys said: “We have thoroughly enjoyed our years owning Yorebridge House and we are delighted to be handing over the reins to David and his team, who we know will nurture this fantastic business and its wonderful team of staff and continue to improve and develop it for a very exciting future.”

Christie & Co worked with the Reillys on their exit strategy and to limit disruption on the day-to-day running of the business while the hotel was sold.
