3663 now able to certify customers' carbon savings

Food service distributor http://www.uk.issworld.com/Pages/Frontpage.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer">3663 ](http://www.3663.co.uk/)is now able to provide a certificate of carbon saving for customers who have signed up to its recycling scheme for used cooking oil.

The scheme, which it launched in November 2007 and now has ISO 14064 accreditation part 2, involves 3663 recycling its customers' waste oil into biodiesel to fuel its fleet of delivery trucks.

The first certificate of quantified carbon saving has been issued to [ISS Facilities Services Healthcare, which joined the scheme in May 2008. It certifies that ISS achieved a carbon saving of 88.5 tonnes through the scheme in 2010.

"This is the first of its kind in the sector and something that will continue to help our customers achieve their own CSR targets," said 3663 managing director Alex Fisher.

As well as benchmarking the products against leading brands for taste and quality, 3663 has introduced new packaging that illustrates the ingredients and is colour-coded to help busy caterers store the products correctly - orange for the storeroom, blue for the freezer and green for the fridge

Spearheading the revamp is a new range of six exclusive, ready-to-serve meals.

They include Coq au Vin (sold in packs of 8 x 410g portions), Toad in the Hole (8 x 305g), Beef Olives (8 x 300g), Chicken with Feta Cheese, Chorizo and Pine Kernels (8 x 214g), Beef Bordelaise (8 x 220g), and Chicken Chasseur (8 x 410g, or as a multi-portion entrée).
