Adam Mason joins CEDA as director general
CEDA has appointed Adam Mason as its first director general, starting in the post on 1 September 2014.
Mason will work closely with the CEDA board and office team to grow the association, and support its aim of being the catering equipment sector's voice of authority.
Mason brings a wealth of experience to the new role, having previously held senior roles with the Association of British Furniture Manufacturers for 11 years, most recently as their commercial director.
"I am delighted to take up this new post with CEDA and I look forward to adding real value to the association, the membership and the wider industry," said Mason.
"I will work closely with the CEDA Board, Fiona and Peter to ensure that my knowledge of the industry is comprehensive and will use my extensive trade association experience to achieve the aims and objectives of the Board."
"Specifically, we are looking to grow the membership, develop an outstanding package of services and reach a level of recognition within the foodservice industry so that every stakeholder in commercial kitchen design and procurement insists that it uses a CEDA member company.
Jack Sharkey, CEDA chairman, added: "Having been at the helm of a large trade association representing the membership and industry to UK government and the EU, Adam has developed effective strategies for membership recruitment and retention, international trade, events, exhibitions, PR, marketing, advertising and membership services.
His strengths fit in perfectly with CEDA's aim to represent the best catering equipment distributors in the UK and to be the ‘go to' trade association for end-users in foodservice."
