African coffee-ware from Villeroy & Boch

African coffee-ware from Villeroy & Boch

African prints and colours are the inspiration for four new designs to join Villeroy & Boch's NewWave Caffe collection of espresso, cappuccino and coffee cups and mugs with waved, rectangular party plate saucers that are large enough to carry biscuits and spoons.

Mombasa uses circular patterns in pink, orange and peach shades on the cups (with purple and brown added to the mix for the saucers), while Okavango contrasts reds and oranges with beiges and browns in a pattern of flower prints, shapes and lines.

The remaining designs use traditional ethnic patterns and motifs - Amboseli sports animal prints with gold accents, while Nahema portrays figures in native headdresses.
