Allergen Accreditation provides resources for Allergen Aware Month

This month Allergen Accreditation has launched its Allergen Aware Month in Food Service 2021 with a resource pack for operators.

With restaurants forced to provide takeaway in higher volumes, the team at foodservice solutions business Allergen Accreditation are reminding operators to keep allergen management front of mind.

Director Julian Edwards recommends staying on top of allergen training and spending any spare time in January reviewing allergen protocols, with an eye on new allergen legislation due in October 2021 "that needs planning for now."

The 2021 Resource Pack, available here, includes information on new legislation on labelling for Pre-Packed for Direct Sale products (PPDS), the Anaphylaxis Campaign, how to digitise your allergen management and much more.

"You will need to review the updated allergen guide from the FSA (Food Standards Agency), published in June 2020, and it will be a good idea to check out the FSA's new online allergen training portal, that includes PPDS," adds Edwards.
