Bradshaw reports that a growing number of caterers are upgrading to its combi-microwave ovens. The latest Amana UCA2000NT2 Convection Express adds a 2.2kW convection oven to 1,000W of microwave power and is claimed to achieve perfect pastry cooking up to five times faster than a standard convection oven.
Capacity is 34 litres (1.2cu ft) and the one-touch control can access up to 100 menu programmes - from beef wellington to filet mignon - incorporating any of 11 power levels and four cooking stages. List price is £1,795.
Other top-end ovens from Amana include the UHDC5212, a compact model - less than 43cm wide and 35cm tall - with 2,100W output. It has up to 100 menu programmes and 11 power levels, from full power to hold.
The URFS518S, rated at 1,800W, is sized to take prepackaged foods, single servings or large plates. Twin magnetrons are fitted top and bottom for even heating in the stainless-steel 34 litre-capacity interior.
