London and South east hotel market with the opening of a new business unit near LondonHeathrowAirport. The group has already secured contracts from Hammersmith to Dartford and from Watford to Gatwick and expects to see demand rise as the 2012 London Olympics approach due to limited spare capacity in the region. Anfonwen specialises in the corporate four-star and independent hotel sectors, supplying more than 30,000 bedrooms across England and Wales. The group has also started work on a £3m expansion of its Cardiff facilitythat will add 20,000 square feet and boost its weekly capacity from 700,000 to 1.1 million items on completion in May. New laundry equipment is being supplied by Kannegiesser. Anfonwen is also investing in new heat and water recovery systems. Its expansion is backed by a £6m refinancing package from Yorkshire Bank, HSB Equipment Finance and the Welsh Assembly Government. When complete, the drive will raise its national weekly capacity from 1.3 million items (between its Cardiff, Leeds and Pwllheli facilities) to 1.75 million items. raise capacity weekly from 1.3 million items to 1.75 million >
