Best British Roast Dinner title awarded to Scottish steakhouse Kyloe
Kyloe Restaurant & Grill, in Edinburgh, Scotland has been named as the winner of the Best British Roast Dinner 2013.
The Edinburgh restaurant's Great Sunday Meat Up impressed mystery diners thanks to the quality, of its locally sourced meat, abundance of crispy duck fat roast potatoes, fresh, roasted root vegetables and stand out gravy.
Murray Ward, general manager of The Rutland Hotel, home to Kyloe, said: "We're thrilled to have won the title of Best British Roast Dinner 2013, proving that our roasts are the best - not just in Scotland but the whole of the UK.
"Kyloe, an old Scots word for Highland beef cattle, was chosen for the name of the restaurant as it represents the strength and versatility of Scottish beef produce. I think this strength is reflected in our team and I want to thank them for their passion, hard work and first class service, as without them this award wouldn't have been possible.
Chris Brown, from British Roast Dinner Week, who organised the competition, added: "The service at Kyloe was warm, the food first class and the theatre of a whole joint of borders roast rib of beef carved at the table made for an exceptional experience.
Kyloe was awarded the title to mark the last day of British Roast Dinner Week 2013, sponsored by Knorr and supported by Colman's.
