Bibendum's CEO wins Wine category campaigner of the year award
Michael Saunders, CEO of the Bibendum PLB Group has been awarded the inaugural ‘Wine Category Campaigner of the Year' at The Wine and Spirit Trade Association's (WSTA) Budget 2015 Campaign Parliamentary Reception for his support of the Call Time on Duty Campaign.
Presented by Peter Richards MW, the award recognises the contribution that Saunders has made within the wine industry to back the campaign encouraging people within the industry to write to their MP.
The reception held in the House of Commons and sponsored by Tim Loughton, Conservative MP for East Worthing and Shoreham was held to further promote the wine and spirit industry's call for a cut in duty across all alcohol products in the 2015 budget.
It also provided an opportunity to deepen relationships with individual MPs and peers and demonstrate to parliamentarians how the industry is working together to ensure its sizeable contribution to the economy is recognised. Dennis O'Flynn of Pernod Ricard was also recognised as the inaugural Campaigner of the Year for the spirits category.
"The WSTA has done a great job with the Call Time on Duty campaign and I felt it was my duty, as someone who works within the industry, to support it as strongly as possible," said Saunders.
