Biodegradable plates and food containers from Cap-It-All

The GoodLife range of biodegradable disposable plates, bowls, cups and food containers from Cap-It-All provide the convenience of disposable packaging for take-away and alfresco dining without the environmental cost of landfill disposal or pollution-emitting incineration.

The line-up uses either moulded fibre or polylactic acid (PLA) derived from corn starch. PLA disposables are crystalline in appearance, will compost in about 50 days and are suitable for cold drinks, fresh foods and salads at temperatures from -25ºC to 50ºC.

The moulded-fibre range is made from 95% fast-growing renewable fibres (reed or sugar cane) and 4% water using eco-friendly manufacturing techniques that include gas-generated steam recycling of water, and sealing by press.

They will degrade within weeks after composting, are resistant to hot water up to 100ºC and oil up to 130ºC, are microwave- and oven-safe up to 220ºC and can be frozen down to -25ºC. The latest addition to the line is the 10-strong LapTop collection of hinged-lid food boxes.
