Brakes and Annabel Karmel cookery demonstration for kids

Brakes teamed up with children's food expert Annabel Karmel last week to treat a group of parents and their children to Karmel's latest ready meal selection in an interactive cookery demonstration at the Brakes Innovation Centre in London.

The children took part in a series of fun games alongside life-sized characters Polly and Ned and sampled eight of Karmel's dishes including Spaghetti bolognaise with hidden vegetable sauce; Fruity chicken curry and Fish pie.

Spaghetti carbonara and Chocolate sponge were the most popular dishes amongst the children with the chocolate sponge meeting "eating out" nutritional guidelines as an occasional treat.

"Giving children a healthy meal in a restaurant that tastes good and is of a high quality is most important," commented Karmel, adding: "If the child does not like the taste of the food, the parents will not return to that restaurant with the child. All my recipes are tested on children and are guaranteed to tempt even the fussiest of eaters."

Karmel's range of meals are featured in the latest Brakes catalogue under the Creative Foods label as well as on the menus at holiday parks Haven holidays, Butlins, Tootsies, Dexters and Asquith nurseries.

You can watch the children enjoying Karmel's meals at last week's interactive cookery demonstration below.
